Favorite Cranberry Recipe
What do you think about cranberries? They are pretty, red, roundish and bright. You see a cranberry and say hey “Thanksgiving is almost here!”
Our family has a traditional dish that is really quite simple. My grandma made it and I a guessing her mother made it as well. My dad usually wrinkles his nose a bit, but the bowl is always clean at the end of the feast.
This is what you are going to need
1 can cranberry sauce - your choice of berries or just the jell.
1 carton cool whip or 2 cups whipped cream
1 sleeve crushed saltines
1 clear glass dish with high sides
Start with the saltines and sprinkle some on bottom of dish.
Then do a thin layer of cranberry sauce
Next spread on a third of the cool whip.
Repeat 2 more times and then sprinkle on a few more saltines for garnish if you want.
I am not a recipe writer, and I know what size dish we use for this, but since it is in a cupboard at my parents house I can’t tell you anymore. You are smart, figure it out! And then enjoy!
Here are some books to read while you are enjoying dessert!
